Zahara Marshal is a passionate and celebrated Sri Lankan artist known for her emotionally resonant acrylic paintings. Her work captures the raw beauty of human connection, the untouched majesty of nature, and the wild spirit of animals — each canvas telling a story that transcends language and culture.
As the Founder and Creative Director of Zahara Marshal Artspace, she has built a vibrant creative community where art lovers, collectors, and aspiring artists come together around a shared love of beauty and meaning.
Zahara's journey with art began in childhood, sketching the world around her in the warm light of a Sri Lankan afternoon. What started as a quiet hobby grew into an all-consuming passion that shaped the course of her life.
After years of self-study, formal training, and countless hours at her easel, Zahara developed a distinctive style — one characterized by bold color, emotional depth, and an almost photographic attention to the subtleties of light and shadow in acrylic.
Her paintings have been exhibited in galleries across Sri Lanka, with collectors in over 15 countries owning original pieces. Yet for Zahara, the most meaningful part remains the moment someone stands before a painting and feels something they cannot quite put into words.
I paint because the world is too beautiful, too full of quiet moments and unspoken stories, to leave uncaptured. My canvas is my way of saying: I saw this, I felt this, and I want you to feel it too.
